# Create PEX tags for Microsoft Dynamics 365

> PEX Tag Manager is your one-stop shop to sync Dynamics 365 fields with PEX tags. Each PEX tag corresponds to a Dynamics 365 field. The connector can pull in your expense accounts, vendors, tax rates, classes, departments, locations, customers, and more from Dynamics 365, so you don't have to add them manually in PEX.

Once they're in PEX, you can easily code and tag transactions before they sync to Dynamics 365. They will then sync to Dynamics 365 with the correct expense account, vendor, class, department, location, and other mapped fields.

## Create dropdown tags in Tag Manager

<Steps>
  <Step>
    Log in to [http://dashboard.pexcard.com/](http://dashboard.pexcard.com/?utm_source=support)
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Go to [Business Settings -> Tag Manager](https://dashboard.pexcard.com/business-settings/tags?utm_source=support).
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click **Add Tag**.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Select **Dropdown** as the type.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Enter a name: **Expense Account**.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Optionally, add a description like "Dynamics 365 Expense Account".
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Check **Enabled** to make this tag visible on transactions.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Choose whether this tag is required.

    * If the **Required** checkbox is checked, cardholders must tag a transaction with it.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click **Save tag** to finish.

    * The new tag appears on the Tag Manager page.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Create one tag for each Dynamics 365 field you map to a PEX tag (for example Vendor, Tax Rate, Class, Department, Location, Customer) using the same steps.

    * Your new tags appear in Tag Manager.

<Note>
  **Note:**

  Only dropdown-type tags can be mapped to Dynamics 365 fields. Custom fields configured in Dynamics 365 are also supported and appear in the Mappings tables.
</Note>

## Where your tags appear

Once the tags are set up, you will also see them:

* In the dropdown lists of the **Mappings** table so you can complete the mapping.

  </Frame>

* On the PEX transaction details screen, so you and your cardholders can tag transactions.

<Tip>
  **Tip:**

  Enable the **Sync Tag Toggle** in the Dynamics 365 connector Mappings table. This automatically syncs field values from Dynamics 365 into PEX as tag options. For example, the values for a PEX tag "Expense Account" in Tag Manager will be populated with the names of your Dynamics 365 accounts.
