# How to Increase Your Card Limit

> Check your current card order limit and request an increase when your plan's default allotment is not enough for the cards you need to issue.

Before you have funded your PEX account, you can order up to 30 cards. After funding your account, you will be able to order the full amount of cards in your plan.

Your Plan will come with a default number of cards that are included for a flat fee.

* Please note, however, that additional Open cards, over and above the default number in your Plan, are billed on a per-card-per-month basis
* Selected customers on older plans may see different card order limits

Before you request an increase in the number of cards that you're allowed (your "card order limit"), please check the number of cards that are currently available to you to order.

## How to check the number of cards available

<Steps>
  <Step>
    Log in to [dashboard.pexcard.com](https://dashboard.pexcard.com?utm_source=support)
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click the "Cards" option in the left navigation
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click the "Order Cards" button in the upper right corner

    <Note>
      **Note:**

      Only Admins with permission to **Create Cardholder** will see the "Order Cards" button. Admins can view their permissions in "My Profile" in the upper right of the site.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    You will see the number of available cards at the top of the page

    * If you are still unsure about the number of cards your organization can order, then please contact Customer Service at [adminsupport@pexcard.com](mailto:adminsupport@pexcard.com) for details
  </Step>
</Steps>

If you need additional cards, first close (terminate) cards that are no longer in use. This will increase your available card limit because closed cards do not count against your allowed number of available cards (see "[How to Terminate Multiple Cards](/administrator-guide/how-to-close-multiple-cards-at-once-on-all-programs) ")

<Note>
  Note that PEX considers Blocked or Inactive cards to be "Open". They count towards your card limit and are included in the number of cards that you are charged for.
</Note>

<Note>
  **Note:**

  Vendor cards do not count towards your card limit and are free. Even if you have reached the maximum number of cards in your plan, you can still create Vendor cards as needed at no additional cost. See [How to Create Vendor Cards](/administrator-guide/how-to-create-vendor-cards).
</Note>

## Ordering additional cards

Send an email to Customer Service at [adminsupport@pexcard.com](mailto:adminsupport@pexcard.com) to request a card limit increase.

1. Estimate the approximate number of cards that you will need for the next 6 months; this figure is used as a benchmark when determining your new card limit.
2. Customer Service will notify you when your card limit has been increased
