# How to Send a Cardholder Invite

> Invite a new cardholder to register their PEX card and create login credentials, and verify whether a card has already been registered.

Cardholders are able to register their cards and create cardholder accounts before their cards are received in the mail. Cardholders are still able to register their cards upon receipt.\
Cards may only be registered once to create a cardholder login account.

* If a card is replaced by PEX, the same login credentials must be used to login to the same card account. The cardholder will be able to view their replacement card account details when they login after the administrator activates the card on the administrator dashboard.
* If a brand new card is created on the administrator dashboard, the new card account must be registered to create new login credentials. These accounts will not be linked in any way as they are two separate card accounts.

### **How to verify if a card has been registered**

Locate the card under the *Cards* tab, click on the card name.\
Go to the *Owner or Profile* tab on the far right.\
If this says *Owner*, their card has already been registered.

Once the cardholder receives this email, they will be prompted to either *Activate My Account* or click on the URL.

* If the cardholder has their card in hand, advise them to proceed to click *Activate My Account*.
* If the cardholder does not yet have their card in hand, advise them to proceed to click on the URL hyperlink in the email to complete their cardholder login credentials.

<Note>
  **Note**:

  The cardholder invite will expire after 96 hours. If needed, any administrator may resend the cardholder invite the same way it was originally sent.
</Note>

Once the cardholder has registered their card, and created login credentials, they will have set up a username for their card account. On the administrator dashboard, the *Send Invite* button will no longer be available for this card account as it will be replaced by the completed *Owner* tab.
