# Enabling Low Balance Reminders for Your Card

> As a cardholder, you can opt into low balance notifications to receive a reminder whenever your card balance drops below a certain value. This can help you to ensure you don't run out of funds at inopportune times.

Please note, you must have the [PEX Mobile App for iOS or Android](https://www.pexcard.com/mobile?utm_source=support) to receive low balance notifications. Your organization will also need to have the [PEX Requests](/administrator-guide/what-are-pex-requests) feature enabled.

## To Enable Low Balance Reminders

<Steps>
  <Step>
    Open the PEX mobile app on your mobile device
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Log in with your cardholder credentials
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Tap on more icon bottom right of the screen
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Tap on three dots in the lower right corner of your app to open the notifications field
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click on Notifications, click on Low balance reminder
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Ensure the *Low balance reminder* switch is toggled to the right so it is blue so that it is active.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Type in the dollar amount in the *Threshold amount* field indicated. Click Save in upper right corner to lock in the changes.
