As an administrator with Add/Edit/Terminate Card permission, you can set or change a cardholder’s PIN from the admin dashboard or the PEX mobile app. Both methods are covered below.

Set or change a PIN from the dashboard

  1. Log in to dashboard.pexcard.com
  2. Click “Cards”
  3. Locate and click the cardholder’s name
  4. Click the three dots (⋮) on the far right of the details page
  5. Select “Set PIN” from the dropdown
  6. Enter and re-enter the 4-digit PIN in the fields provided, following the PIN requirements shown on screen
  7. Check the box if you want to let the cardholder change the PIN directly
  8. Click the blue “Set” button

Set or change a PIN from the mobile app

Download the app if you haven’t already — it’s free, though carrier data rates may apply: Then:
  1. Log in to the mobile app
  2. Tap the “Cards” icon at the bottom of the screen
  3. Tap the cardholder’s name
  4. Tap “PIN”
  5. Enter and re-enter the 4-digit PIN, following the PIN requirements shown on screen
  6. Tap “Save” to set the PIN
Good to know:
  • A PIN doesn’t unlock cash. Setting a PIN never gives a cardholder cash access - not at an ATM, and not as “cash back” at checkout. If a cardholder forgets their PIN, PEX Customer Service can’t recover or reset it - only an administrator can. The cardholder should contact their administrator for a new one, or, if you checked the box in step 7 (dashboard) above, they can change it themselves. A PIN isn’t required to use the card. PEX cards work without one! A cardholder can always complete a purchase by processing it as credit instead:
    • At the point of sale, choose the “Bypass PIN” option if the terminal offers it and follow the prompts to complete the purchase as credit.
    • If bypass isn’t offered, try a mobile wallet, or ask the cashier to run the card as credit.
