The spend rule requests workflow allows you to request temporary or permanent changes to your spend rules if the Use Auto-Card Funding feature is enabled. Whether it’s increasing a time-based limit, enabling international spend or adjusting merchant category restrictions, spend requests enable fast, accountable decision-making — all without leaving the PEX platform. You can submit spend requests to increase your spend limits from the mobile app or Dashboard.

Submit a spend rule request

Log in to the Dashboard at dashboard.pexcard.com as a Cardholder.

Navigate to Card requests from the sidebar menu.

Click the Spend rule requests tab in the top menu.

Click New request in the top right corner.

Select Spend from the dropdown.

Specify the dates for which you want your limits updated in the From date and To date fields.

Enter the requested amounts next to your original time-based limits.
  • Requested amounts must be higher than the current ones.
  • Only the limits set for your Cardholder account are displayed.

Click More options to see which other spend restrictions can be requested for extension.

Check the boxes next to the items you want to enable in your spend request.

Add a note in the Note text area (optional).

Click Submit.

Review the status of your spend rule request

Log in to the Dashboard at dashboard.pexcard.com as a Cardholder.

Navigate to Card requests from the sidebar menu.

Click the Spend rule requests tab.
  • All requests waiting for approval are displayed by default.
  • To view all requests, click Filters in the top left and select all statuses from the Review status dropdown.
Note:You’ll receive an email notification when your spend rule request is approved, rejected or canceled.

Notifications

  • Once a spend request is approved, rejected or canceled, you’ll receive an email notification.
  • Once your request gets activated and spend rules change, you’ll receive an email notification.
  • Once your spend rule request expires, you’ll receive an email notification.

FAQ

Can I submit a spend rule request via the mobile app? Yes. Tap Requests in the bottom menu and swipe to the Spend tab. How can I know about my spend request approval/rejection/cancellation? You’ll receive a notification (email and push) once your spend request is approved or rejected/canceled. Can I delete or cancel my spend rule request? No, you cannot delete or cancel a spend rule request once submitted. Can I edit my spend rule request after it has been submitted? No, you cannot edit your spend rule request after submission. However, admins can edit your request before it has been approved or rejected. Will I receive an advance reminder about spend rules being reverted? Yes, an email reminder is sent 3 days before your spend rules are reverted.
