Visa and Mastercard monitor all cards on their respective networks and take proactive steps every day to safeguard their portfolios. Both companies maintain lists of cards that they believe have been compromised or stolen, and that they believe may be used for fraudulent transactions. - When a card that has not been funded or used in the last 90 days appears on the list of compromised card numbers , then that card will be closed (terminated) 5 days after PEX notifies you. You can call PEX and ask for a replacement card to be issued within 5 days of receiving the notification.
- If a card on the Compromised Card list has recently been used, then PEX will issue a replacement card immediately and the old card will be automatically closed:
- Upon activation of the replacement card; or
- In 30 days, whichever comes first
